The Sarntal Valley stretches 50 kilometres from the north of Bolzano to the Penser Joch. The largest municipality in South Tyrol in terms of area with the main town of Sarnthein offers endless ski touring opportunities in the Sarntal itself or in the side valleys and villages of Pens, Durnholz, Weissenbach and many other small side valleys.
The rural Sarntal Valley also offers a variety of cultural attractions such as quill embroidery, wood sculpting or the traditional "Sarnar Toppar" (felt slippers) and the processing of loden.
