A week around Sulden: By summiting the Tschengelser Hochwand (3375m), Hoher Angelus (3521m), Zufallspitze (3757m), Cevedale (3769m) we acclimatise ourselves steadidly to the altitude, preparing ourselves technically and physically for our final ascent - the Ortler (3905).
Program:
Day 1: | Joint ascent to the Düsseldorfer hut (2721m) Meeting point at 3pm in Sulden. Ascent with the Kanzellift, ascent to the hut. |
Day 2: | Tschengsler Hochwand (highwall) (3375m) – Düsseldorfer hut Ascent to the Tschengsler Hochwand through an exposed via ferrata. Combined with the bouldery terrain of the ascent and descent, it is the first preparation for the route to the Ortler. From the summit we have a fantastic view of the Ortler, Zebru and Königsspitze triumvirate. Descent to the Düsseldorfer hut. |
Day 3: | Ascent Hoher Angelus (3521m) Ascent to Hoher Angelus and descent to Sulden - overnight stay in hotel |
Day 4: | Zufallspitze (3757m), Cevedale (3769m) – Hintergrathütte Glacier ascent over the Langenferner to the Zufallspitze and Cevedale, which are connected to each other via a ridge. Descent via the Casati hut to the Schaubach hut and transition to the Hintergrath hut (only possible if you are in good physical condition - alternatively you can climb the Suldenspitze (3375m) on this day. |
Day 5: | Payerhütte (3029m) Leisurely hike to the Payerhütte - recovery day for the Ortler ascent. Ortler (3905m) |
6. Tag: | Via the normal route to the highest point in Tyrol and descent into the valley. |
