The north wall of the Große Zinne is certainly one of the really famous walls. In August 1933, three climbers made history there: E. Comici and Guiseppe and Angelo Dimai climbed what was certainly by far the most difficult tour in the world at the time. Today it is considered certain that Emilo Comici did not free climb the route at that time, but very few bolts were used, so it is assumed that Comici had already free climbed parts of the 7th degree.
In 1937, the first solo ascent was made by the master himself, Emilio Comici. It speaks for his class that he immediately complained about the now "too many pitons" (far fewer than today). Droyer and Tugaye managed the first free ascent in 1978.
